Does anyone know anything about this school?

    http://www.msm.nl/1/1/uk/home/

They have a DBA program that requires four courses in the first year and then after that its all dissertation. They are accredited by ACBSP, IACBE, and AMBA as well as the through the Dutch Ministry of Education.

Does anyone know if a DBA from MSM would be accepted in academia in the U.S. at B&M schools?

    Any feedback would be appreciated.

    Looks Good! :)

The Maastricht School of Management (part of Maastricht University) seems to be well regarded in Europe, as it made the Financial Times European Business School Rankings 2008:

Regarding your second question, I assume that you are looking for a tenure track position at a US B & M business school. Most of these positions seem to require (or strongly prefer) a doctorate from an AACSB-accredited business school. I just noticed that Maastricht University is also listed as having AACSB accreditation, so it appears to be a valid option:

    https://www.aacsb.net/eweb/DynamicPage.aspx?Site=AACSB&WebKey=ED088FF2-979E-48C6-B104-33768F1DE01D

Since this institution is outside the US, you would have to highlight the AACSB accreditation in your CV, but otherwise it would look fine to any US university.

Any other thoughts on this program?

    Error in Previous Post

I made an error in my previous post. It appears that the Maastricht School of Management is a separate institution from Maastricht University. Therefore, the Maastricht School of Management is not AACSB accredited.

If you want to maximize your options for potential tenure track positions, then you should get a doctorate from an AACSB-accredited business school. Fortunately, there are some limited-residency options out there for about the same fees as the Maastricht School of Management. You can look at Grenoble, Aston, or Glasgow, among others. One of the DegreeInfo members, Han, recently got his DBA from Grenoble and also got a tenure track position at an AACSB-accredited business school.

If you are fine without AACSB accreditation, then there are some US options that are both regionally accredited and have some sort of business accreditation (either ACBSP or IACBE) at a lower fee. You could look at Anderson University (Indiana), Nova, Touro, and NCU, among others. There are a few "sticky" threads in this forum that are quite informative.

Of course, I welcome input on any of my comments ... :)
