Ive been accepted in the MBA(Finance) program at both Belluvue and Upper Iowa university. I have to reject the offer from one of these universities. Very tough decision.
I don't know anything about these two MBAs or schools - but Upper Iowa is a better sounding name to me. But to make a decision I would trade off cost, course interest, faculty, school accreditations, time to complete, electronic library, and any exit course (comprehensive exam, thesis, etc).
I have also reviewed both of these schools for MBA in Finance and spoken with current and former students. Bellevue is 12 week semesters and it take around three years to complete if you take one class per semester. From reviewing the courses and what is required from Bellevue, it appears taking two classes per semester would be a little challenging if you are working full time. As for Upper Iowa University, I heard that is very writing intensive, but it's 8 week semesters and you can finish in little over two years. I liked UIU because it has 18 graduate credits in Finance courses and can finish in two years. I'm also looking at Webster University in addition to these two schools, but I'm also studying for CPCU before work and GMAT after work and hating it. lol
I just found this rankings http://www.mbadistancelearningguide.com/2009/01/lu-online-among-nations-top-online-colleges/ I think I write the GMAT after my MBA maybe for a PHD. I started learning since last year.
I wouldn't accept this ranking as being anything close to definitive. We know that there are almost 200 US schools offering the MBA degree through distance learning. The idea (for example) that ITT Tech is #17 in the country is ludicrous. UMass is not even on the list. I'd say it's a bad ranking and should not be used for anything other than stimulating conversation on bad rankings.
