After being married for twenty years, I got my bachelor's degree in psychology from Excelsior, by testing out for all but eight credits. Because I was able to obtain experience before degrees were required to the extent they are now, I accumulated fifteen years of management and consulting work, although much of that was done on a sporadic basis. I am now in the process of completing a master's degree in administrative management from Fairleigh Dickinson University (online), and want to do adjunct teaching. Here's my question: in light of my background - and especially because I tested out almost completely for my bachelor's degree - is this a reasonable goal? Any and all advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

I moved this to the general discussions because it's a good general interest question, plus I think it will get more traffic (and therefore more responses) here. :)

I tested out of my BS and earned an MS online. I work quite a bit as an adjunct (3 schools) plus have a real job. By the way, I know quite a few people that went to Fairleigh Dickinson University. Are you in NJ?

Thanks for your information - it's a relief to know it wasn't an issue for you.

I'm in California. I heard about FDU through this discussion board, from what might be the one and only reference to it. The Master of Administrative Science (MAS) program is just 30 credits, and the courses are ten weeks, with very little time off in between terms. I started in January of this year, and will be finished in December. Courses are $1565 each, so it isn't cheap, but it's been a great program for me, and I'm glad I found it.
