I just noticed that the USN Post Graduate School offers degrees (including a Ph.D.) by distant learning.

To participate students have to be in the military or a DOD employee (although there are some exceptions).

    Good afternoon!

There is another program hosted by the Naval Postgraduate School and the Department of Homeland Security that is not shown on the NPS distance learning website. It is a master's degree in homeland security, and it is available to public sector employees at the local, state, or Federal level. This is a blended delivery program and I believe it is free of charge to eligible people. As you might expect, the selection process appears quite rigorous and more information can be seen at http://www.chds.us/?masters/overview on the web.

I hope this helps someone considering NPS or other security-related programs.
