I am an online law student. I have "kinda" done a study of online legal education.

Many potential law students cannot attend a residential law school due to work or family commitments, not to mention the financial burden of the high tuition at these law schools and the costs of moving and travel. Online law schools are an option for such persons.

One online law school, and one only, namely the school I attend which is the [pathetic attempt at spamming name of school removed by moderator] uses the traditional Socratic Method of teaching used at all prestigious law. Use of the Socratic Method at the [pathetic attempt at spamming name of school removed by moderator] is possible because at this online school students can speak with and hear the professors and their classmates by logging into a Virtual Classroom from a computer at their home or work, thus enabling the professors and students to orally discuss cases and debate the law, live and in “real-time, as is done at all prestigious residential law schools.

Apparently as a result of its use of the traditional Socratic Method, the[pathetic attempt at spamming name of school removed by moderator] recently has had excellent results on the "baby bar," a required exam for law students who have completed the first year, which they must pass before they can continue on the Juris Doctor track at online law schools. The results at the [pathetic attempt at spamming name of school removed by moderator] are especially good when compared to other online law schools; see the statistics at http://www.calbar.ca.gov/calbar/pdfs/admissions/Statistics/JULY2008STATS.pdf, under the "Baby Bar Pass Rates" section. [url replaced with one that actually shows baby bar results, rather than a link to an article favorable to said spamming school.]

The website for the school is at [pathetic attempt at spamming name of school removed by moderator].

It never ceases to amaze me how schools will so blatantly try to shill for themselves.

If the above poster was genuinely interested in talking about his experiences at said school, and comparing it to other schools s/he had considered, it would be one thing. But the above posting was clearly posted not by some random student at said spammed school, but by a shill for the school in an attempt to game Google rankings and to promote the program.

By the way, when you look at the actual baby bar results for 2008 in the corrected link I posted above, the school that was attempting to shill itself is not even listed in the results, further indicating this is not an honest communication.
