*LLM *MA/MSc in Psychology/Sociology *MA/MSc in Political Science I'm not into the technical career path, so these would serve me well. I don't think I'm going to do an LLM, however the other two seem like the best for me.
If I have a choice to start all over again. I would choose. - MD (Medical Doctor) - MA/MSc Engineering - MA/MSc in IT/IS/CS Since I have been taking a different direction, then my next step is Ph.D in Telecommunication/Management or Business Administration.
I'm removing MD from consideration. Based on your criteria, I'd probably go... 1. Architecture 2. Engineering 3. Mathematics Architects seem to typically practice their profession either with a BArch degree (not exactly a bachelors degree) or with a shorter bachelors plus an MS. Doctorates don't seem to be expected. Engineering is kind of similiar I guess, though to a lesser degree and with more doctorates. Engineers do well on the mid-career earnings charts. Mathematics is a little tougher since a PhD is probably more often the standard. My own personal favorite would probably be history, but in choosing it I wouldn't really be sticking to your criteria and would be substituting my own.
NOTE: I'm not considering relative prestige or utility. I'm just considering what I like best (regardless of utility) and what I don't like. I'd say, given your criteria of prestige and utility: 1) MD 2) MSc in Engineering 3) MBA 4) LLM 5) MSc in IT/IS/CS Of course, this doesn't matter too much if you have no interest/talent in those areas.
Assuming that MD = Medical Doctor, it doesn't belong in a list of Masters degrees. My answer: Engineering IT, etc. Math
Interesting topic! I would go with BillDayson and Kizmet; mainly because I am torn between engineering and architecture. All of these degrees can be prestigious and carry utility, in my opinion; especially if the school is prestigious itself or the degree holder is very talented...
For prestige I would rank music at the top. Then architecture and literature. For utility I think a lot depends on your career, but for me it would be Mathematics Engineering MBA
