How is the Big 3 perceived in their home cities/states? Anyone in Albany? Trenton? or New Britain metros care to chime in? How about state wide (NY, NJ, CT)?

My TESC classes were all mainly locals save a few military. I don't think that most TESC students know it's called the "big 3" because most of the TESC students in my classes never even heard of CLEP and were taking 100% residencies. The students I chatted with all spoke well of the school, and said that they picked it because they knew of ads and/others who attended. So, it's possible that Trenton might be the ONLY place TESC is well known (other than the online forums of course).

I used to live in Albany. Excelsior is definitely known there, although most people in the area consider it a school for adult students. Traditional college-age students opt for the local public and private universities in the area. RPI is right next door in Troy, and Sienna College is highly regarded in the area as well.

I can tell you that driving around in Connecticut you will see more than a few COSC stickers in the windows of peoples cars.
