A friend wishes to study for this exam. There seem to be a great many options: all online, mostly online (with a 1 or 2 day class session), all in person, etc. Most of the sites suggest they are the best, highest pass rate, best guarantees, etc. I wonder if anyone has any experience with this process. Thanks. --John

Like some many things, it depends some what on which of the 55 classifications your friend is looking at, and what your friends background is.

All of the courses cover ths basic CA State Contractor’s Law & Business materials, which you can study just as easily from the material supplied by the CA Contractors Board (IMO).

The next part is classification specific information, and that depends on personal experience and knolwedge.

When I took the General Engineering exam, the part I had the hardest time with was railroad bridges.

Buying a study book and using the Boards supplied info is often enough.
