Hello All, Any comments either way about JFK University in the San Francisco Bay Area? I am particularly interested in their law school, and my ability to become a lawyer in California should I decide upon and complete their program. Thank you, Christian
JFK has been around for about 30 years, and is regionally accredited. It has a relatively small but serviceable campus in Orinda (a former elementary school), and is most commonly known for its humanistic and transpersonal psychology programs. I wasn't aware that they had distance learning programs. The students I know who either attend or have attended there in the psych programs like the programs and seem quite satisfied, but I don't offhand know anyone in the law program.
Tthe JFk ;aw school is housed in an office building in Walnut Creek about two blocks from their business school, a short walk from BART. Eventually they plan to consolidate all of their campuses (currently four) to a new site in Concord next to the Concord BART. The school is okay (I attended for two semeters a few years ago before a job change and extensive travel made me drop it). Most students are mid-career looking for a change. The program is typical of most Cal Bar (non-ABA) schools, heavy on the night program but some day, a medium good library, and aspirations to be ABA approved. Their overall Pass/Fail rate on the Bar is average. You can get into the program without a bachelors, but then you must take the baby-Bar after the first year. The last time I checked they did not have a DL program, but things do change. ------------------ M. C. (Mike) Albrecht, PE
