Can anyone point out reasonably priced single credit grad courses in business or management, especially but not limited to finance, tax or accounting? Thanks.
UC Berkeley has some 2 quarter unit (1-1/3 semester unit) courses: http://extension.berkeley.edu/cat/online.html#pfp If credit via exam is acceptable check out DSST http://www.getcollegecredit.com/resources.html#factsheets 3-credit exams but low cost.
Are the UC Berkley grad courses or upper division? It seems they might be grad level since the numbering is in the 4xx series. Do I have this right? DSST wouldn't work since they are undergrad credits.
I think Berkeley uses semester, not quarter units. UCLA uses quarter units. http://extension.berkeley.edu/info/grades.html
I missed the "grad" word in your first post. Have you investigated MGT581 at Salve Regina for one unit? MGT591: Independent Study (1-3 credits) A focused study on a subject outside the graduate catalog. An Independent study provides opportunity for original and in-depth research on a specific topic or regional issue of the candidate’s interest and professional focus. It is an important part of the curriculum and should be used to supplement existing coursework. A student selects a topic of research from a single field of learning or one which is interdisciplinary and prepares a research paper to be submitted at the end of the semester (recommended minimum of 20 pages). The quality of the research paper should be appropriate to graduate level research. A list of preliminary reading and/or assignments and a means of assessment/evaluation are clearly defined in advance of the study. Prerequisite: A minimum GPA of 3.2 is required (see guidelines and appropriate forms located on graduate Web site).
Thanks IA. Yes I know I could do an independent study at SRU but I thought I'd see if I could find an existing course. A couple of the UC Berkely courses look good. I'm going to drop them a note next week to verify these are grad credits.
