    Hi all!

Last spring the schedules for WNMU's summer and fall sessions were posted by a member here in advance of WNMU posting them. I was wondering if anyone had any insights as to the spring schedule for WNMU, or if anyone has any idea as to what classes might be offered?

I might end up taking on the new EdS in Administration at Walden on top of WNMU if I can swing it. However, if there are great courses being offered at WNMU, I might hold off with Walden.

    Thanks!

I'm still waiting to see it too...

Still up in the air if I'm continuing or going with CSUDH, but I'd like to at least see the course offering for Spring for WNMU first.

Thanks Matt! It looks like the classes on Life/Literature in New Mexico or English Literature look interesting.
If they cross list the History of Crime and Punishment as an HIST, I may try and see if AMU will take it in transfer as an elective for the MA.

I'm still hoping the History of Crime and Punishment course will be cross listed with History. If not, I get History and Historians with Lavalle or Drug Wars with Hernandez. Not sure what I'll choose. I took Border Issues last spring as a Poly Sci class. It was okay, but not really my interest.

I'm going to re-apply. If I get re-accepted with financial aid, I'm going to take History & Historians and Border Issues.

Have you asked WNMU if they can make an exception and allow you to use this course as a history course?

Excelsior allowed me to use a history class (US diplomatic history) towards a Political Science concentration.

Originally, the Crime and Punishment course had the designation HIST 580 (Spring 2008).

That's true. When I was with California State University Dominguez Hills' HUX program www.csudh.edu/hux the program director told me that he could credit HUX 523 Historic Sites (officially an Interdisciplinary Studies course) as an History course if need be.

Not sure who it was that posted Summer 2008 and Fall 2008 in advance, but I posted historical schedules for the online MAIS going back to 2006.

I registered for Life/Literature in New Mexico and English Literature. With that and the class I'm taking at AMU starting in December, I'll have my hands full. Crazy to be working on 2 degrees at once lol, but I like to keep busy :)

That's a good idea. My problem, however, would be that the course wouldn't have the HIST prefix. That's what I need to satisfy the community college. If WNMU were to say I could count it as a history course for the purposes of the program, would that be documented on the transcript somewhere?

Ask if you could take it under the auspices of HIST 580 (its original designation, which appears to be a special topics course).

Actually, from my understanding WNMU's 580 designation is for courses that are offered for the first time. I probably will end up taking the course. I emailed professor Warren again. He said the online schedule still isn't "finalized" and that there are courses still going through the graduate council. He's pretty sure the course will be cross listed with history. In that case, I'll be the first to sign up!

If they'll cross list it for HIST, then I'll probably drop one of my ENG classes and take it, so I can transfer it over to AMU. I'm still waiting to see, but registered for the 2 ENG classes I want so I can make sure I get them.

Who knows, we may end up in the same class! :)

Wouldn't be the first time I was in a course with someone from these forums. It's actually kind of nice to be in class with someone you "know".

Will the community college be satisfied if you simply point out that "History of Crime and Punishment" has the word "history" in it?

Sometimes the RA Accreditor gets nit-picky (i.e. for teaching history courses or counting as history credits, it has to have a course prefix of HIS/HIST/HST, etc.). Usually titles don't matter. I've gotten burned on that before.
