University Alliance Question

I was looking at this website and noticed they have some certificate programs from Norte Dame and Tulane... I was just wondering are these worth getting to boost the resume a bit or just a waste of money? Thanks for any info.

 

The Tulane mini-MBA (since renamed) was my entry point into DL in 2002~ish. I spent a good deal of money on three courses. They were very good, rigorously covered the material, and so on, and have done nothing for my credentials what-so-ever..

I thought about their Internet Marketing Certificate program w/USF.

My opinions:

(1) Why go through a middleman? - go direct if possible - saves hassle later on in getting transcripts, asking questions, getting refunds, getting problems resolved, etc.

(2) Take certificate courses because you want to learn something - I do not believe that certificates normally boost a resume - its what you can offer an employer that counts.
That being said I did take a certificate course in failure analysis thru Cal Poly and occasionally list it in my resume if relevant to the job I'm bidding on. But I use what I learned in the course frequently.

 

Waste of hard earned money

Waste of $$$$ - my 2 cents

My thoughts:

Bachelors - do not have one, GET ONE (RA)

Masters - want one, try to stay focus on your long term goal, get the most bang for your $$ (Maybe an employer will pay most of the cost?)

Doctors - Age/ROI (two key factors), if you want it badly - get one. (was it a long term goal?)
