I just learned about a non-wonderful bill that stands a good chance of getting passed by the California legislature.

It relates to distance learning in that it's a thinly veiled, backdoor approach being put forth by the various bogus naturopathic schools (Clayton College, Westbrook, etc) to allow their unqualified and non-license-eligible practitioners unfettered ability to practice medicine without a license, as long as they state that they are unlicensed.

Long time readers will probably know that I'm a strong advocate of holistic and alternative medical approaches, but only when based on sound principles and when administered by qualified practitioners. I believe that this bill will help the hundreds of bogus degree holders and harm the legitimately trained and licensed holistic practitioners who have worked very hard to earn their degrees.

You can read about the bill at www.californiahealthfreedom.com.

If you live in California, please call (or better yet, send a handwritten fax) to your state senator opposing the bill. Action could come as soon as Thursday, so timing is crucial.
