Consumerist.com, a wonderful pro-consumer blog now owned by the nonprofit Consumer Reports, just posted an interesting article about a diploma mill that granted a GED to Oreo the Cat http://consumerist.com/5337700/how-useless-are-diploma-mills-this-cat-got-one
This is ridiculous! Animal discrimination!!! How about dogs? Dont dogs deserve some recognition? I am going to report to PETA.
Listen up, cat people. Until you can point to an entire university devoted to awarding degrees to dogs, you haven't got a leg (or four) to stand on. I refer, of course, to Argus University, once the pride of Fairplay, Colorado, which for years offered degrees only to dogs, at $5 each. (Humans could also get one, but only along with their dogs.) Footnote: when Alex Trebek asked me, during our weighty 30-second discussion on Jeopardy, which was my "favorite" degree mill, Argus was my response. Thus 14 million (or whatever) people learned about it that day. I hope it helped them.
Cant really put the blame on cats and dogs. As a non USA student, it is kinda hard to understand the system. It is also lucky for me to have found this forum or I may end up as that cat plus a big hole in my pocket. The choices here are amazing. In my country, there are only the few state universities, if you aren't in, you are out.
Which state would have the easiest licensure laws? Clearly, we need a group of educational entrepreneurs to establish Meowus University for the purpose of awarding degrees to cats and their humasns.
