I am one of the many students who paid tuition, completed coursework, research projects, and followed all of the regulations set before me.

I have five other degrees accredited by the United States Department of Education. My LaSalle University studies were comparable.

On motion of Regent Dees, seconded by Regent Rambin, the Board voted unanimously to accept the recommendation of the Planning, Research and Performance Committee to approve an operating license for LaSalle University.
Lasalle University information provided by the National Center for Education Statistics and the Carnegie Foundation.

Please note that LASALLE Education Corporation was a legal registered corporation within the State. In July 1997 because of all the bad publicity, Orion Education Corporation took over and it also was a legally registered Corporation within the State.

The record indicates that both LASALLE and Orion Education Corporations were operating legally and were in good standing within the State.

On May 3, 1999 LASALLE University made application for accreditation with an agency recognized by the United States Department of Education, the US Military and the Council on Higher Education Accreditation. Their Application was accepted. (Per letter to me Source Code: JODOM98) However, because of low student enrollment, caused by the tremendous amount of negative media publicity, which was difficult to overcome, the application was later turned down and Orion Education Corporation had to ceased operations on May 31, 2002, because of financial difficulties, and not because of any illegal activity.

The State Attorney's General office and The Secretary of State's office confirmed the school was operating legally, and were they permitted to issue valid Degrees.

You still have a degree from a mill.

BrendaS, you have forgotten to mention that the founder owner of LaSalle, Thomas James Kirk was sent to prison for fraud because of running this place.

It appears that you are part of an effort to sucker the poor souls that got taken in by this place into wasting more money to get a useless apostille that would only prove that the person got a bogus diploma from this diploma mill. Anyone that got a diploma from this place should not place it on their resume, IMHO. Please don't try to use DegreeInfo for such nefarious escapades.

Bill: "BrendaS, you have forgotten to mention that the founder owner of LaSalle, Thomas James Kirk was sent to prison for fraud because of running this place."

John: More relevantly, he pleaded guilty, after being indicted by a Federal grand jury on 18 counts of fraud, conspiracy, and tax evasion. He was sentenced to the maximum possible term (5 years; he served four), and started his next diploma mill, Edison University, shortly after arriving in the Federal penitentiary in Beaumont, Texas.

If Brenda's degree was awarded after the new owners took over (1996?), her degree is indeed legal. Otherwise, not.

And so did many other people. Why the legitimate LaSalle in Pennsylvania never sought an injunction against the fake LaSalle (as the real Washington U successfully did against the fake Washington U, the real Thomas Edison against two different fake Edisons, etc.), has always been a mystery to me.
