Hello all, Today I finished my final transcription for my qualitative dissertation. I interviewed 16 former soldiers in a National Guard Battalion to explore why they chose to leave the National Guard after deployment. It's off to data analysis now. After taking tomorrow off, I will use NVIVO 8 for data analysis, and then fly to NH to meet one on one with a NVIVO consultant to review (and teach me a few things) about analyzing my data. If all goes well, I will be submitting... my completed dissertation draft by the end of September. Shawn
Should I assume that this means that you've completed the research phase of your dissertation and what's left now is the writing and final defense?
Yes - I need to analyze my data, write Chapters 4 & 5, update Chapters 1 - 3, and it's over. Speaking of over, today was my final drill with the Army National Guard. I am retiring after 23 years of service. Life is a changing. Shawn
Congrats on your military retirement. No more monthly drills and summer camp! I did 2 years active and 20 years Army Reserve, I know that smile.
Let me echo my thanks as well for your service - THANKS! Congratulations on your progress. I want to echo the sentiment -- I hope everything goes well. The hard part is indeed behind you. Stay the course and you will soon be called Dr.! Good Luck, Congrats, and Thanks!
