Can anyone think of a few RA colleges offering short (5-6 week) undergrad transfer courses resulting in more than 4 terms per year? (in other words- the ability to accelerate year round, not just by hitting a summer or winter accelerated session)

I already knew about APUS and Ashford, but I'd like to put a couple more on my list if possible. Thanks!!

I'm not sure if your looking for one school to go to or just be able to transfer courses. But if you are looking to transfer courses there are a number of independent study resources available that you can complete as fast as you can get them done.

Straighterline, Aleks, CSU pueblo, Univ. of Idaho, BYU, LSU and many others.

Are there particular courses your looking for?

CSU Pueblo and University of Idaho both have restrictions on how fast you can turn in assignments/take exams. I think it was CSU that says a minimum of 12 weeks is allowed, and Idaho only allows turning in 2 sections per week- so you're still looking at 8 weeks give or take.
Can you tell me what the school names are for BYU and LSU? I'd like to keep digging.
Also, since I hadn't considered independent study, anyone who knows of a program without any time restrictions please give a shout out! THANKS!!

    Hi Jennifer,

I'm pretty sure BYU is Brigham Young University and LSU is Louisianna State University.

I'd like to add the University of Georgia. They have a decent amount of independent courses. I believe some of them do have restrictions on how "fast" you can turn in assignments, but I'm not sure what those restrictions are.

No problem! I found UGA when I was looking for online Latin courses. UGA seems to have the most. If I wanted to get into the University of Florida's MA in Latin program (or PhD in Classical Civilization) I'd need at least 3 years of college latin. I have one, and UGA seems to be the only school I could find which offers upper level courses.

What about Queen's University at Kingston www.queensu.ca or the University of Waterloo www.uwaterloo.ca?

    CSU , Idaho

I know that the syllabus for both these schools say there is a maximum number of assignments per week.

For both schools, initially the instructor wants you to stick to this to make sure you understand what is happening. However, for the many courses I have taken at both, the instructor usually allows you to start turning in a number of assignments at a time, as long as you do good coursework.

After the initial two or three chapters of work I often turn in four or five assignments at a time (every week or two weeks), and I usually finish the courses within 4-6 weeks.

Just do good work and talk to the instructor.
