Hello my wife has a traditional Bsc degree from a good UK University in Computing, but she is not very happy with the 3rd class she gained. She currently looking for some distance BSc from UK related to Computing so she can do some credit transfer and maybe do only the dissertation+plus some modules and gain a new BSC.
    Any ideas?
Alternatively if you do not have the above info. can suggest some cheap fees UK Bsc. Maybe from University of Wales or....

    Cheers!

The rule of thumb (with, of course, exceptions) is that 75% of the credit for one Bachelor's degree can be applied to a second Bachelor's degree as another school, typically in a different field (but it can be closely allied).

And one of the reasons I always put a "Bending the Rules" chapter in my book is because the above rule is one that has been known to be bent -- for instance in the direction of allowing "independent study" courses, where most or all of the work is based on work done previously, to account for some or all of the remaining 25%.

As so often is the case in choosing a program, the best advice is "Shop around."

(For the record, I note that there are used copies of the 15th edition available at www.bookfinder.com for under $6 including shipping. I don't earn anything for such sales, but I'm happier to see the books out in the world instead of collecting mold in a warehouse.)

In the USA a second bachelors degree can often be earned by taking 30 semester units (equal to one year full time study). Let us know what your degree (business, liberal studies, history, etc) your wife is interested in and I can make some suggestions for a USA regionally accredited bachelors degree.

FYI I used my British academic qualifications as a basis for my Excelsior degree.

First of all thank you for the direction.
Know the fees are good 3700 pounds the Uni reputable, but regarding the exemption rules you can only be exempted specific number of modules per year , if I remember correctly 2 from the 1st stage and 2 from the 2nd stage not form the 3rd.
    Not so helpful....

Thank you for your guidance, I am already reading parts of the book (thanks to gbooks) and it seems interesting....
I have already started "shopping around" and I was actually looking at the Top-up BSc in Computing options 3 modules and dissertation Uni of Portsmouth fees £3,000 but not luck....the 4 modules and diss. from Uni of Teeside with same fees, again no luck :(
Finally got into the trouble of looking at standard BSc from U of Wales with 9 modules and diss. and some promise that maybe I could do the 6 but the fees were something like 8500 euros!?!?!
    Still searching....

Thank you Ian much appreciated, my wife is interested in something related to the computer science field (so that she can transfer all the possible modules) and could vary from project management to information systems.....
