I want find out any one's experience in the MBA program at the University Of Phx. I recently sat down with a counselor and looked at their MBA program. What do employers think about people we obtain degrees from there?
My last employer, a Fortyune 500 company, thought well of them - they held classes on the company campus, and they paid for employees full tuition, books, and parking. I worked with UoP MBA graduates and they were proficient in their jobs. Of course most had quite a few years of work experience. These fellow employees took all their courses in a sit-down classroom environment. Search degreeinfo and you will find the two biggest student issues with UoP DL programs are: (1) High cost, (2) Required teaming activities. I also worked with several folks who got their MBA from CSUDH and were satisfied. Again via classroom but CSUDH also offers their MBA by DL.
I don't know what employer's perceptions are, but you are concerned about obtaining an MBA at a reasonable price - with a good reputation. UOP's MBA tuition = $23,580 (this does not count fees) According to Get Educated's Regional MBA listing - there are at least 42 schools which have tuition lower than UOPs. Chardon State is the least expensive MBA, some others of note include the University of North Alabama, Upper Iowa University, SUNY Empire State College, and Troy University. (Again there are 42 - I just picked a few). The "gold standard" for an MBA is IMHO - AACSB accreditation. There are 27 schools according to Get Educated's AACSB listing, that have lower tuition the UOP. Some examples are: Texas A&M - Commerce, Oklahoma State University, Western Kentucky University, Mississippi State University, University of Nebraska - Lincoln, Colorado State University, and Auburn University (Again - I just picked a few). I hope this information is helpful to you. Shawn Disclaimer - The University of Akron (where I earned my MBA is AACSB accredited). And yes, Capella University is not AACSB accredited - the RA accreditation is good enough for me )
