I am a CIE/World College student and am almost finished with the Bachelor of Electronic Engineeering Technology program.

    1. The degrees are nationally accredited by DETC. There are many schools that will not let you in to a graduate program with a DETC degree, but there are many more that will.

    2. If you have earned credits from another accredited school and they are relevant to the BCIS program, they should take most of them. With transfer, it is possible to complete a program in less than a year.

    3. I earned an AAS in EET from CIE (the lower level school), and when I started at World College (December 2008), I transferred in 30 or more credits on top of the AAS. I am almost complete with the program now. The nice thing is that the courses are self-paced, so you can finish many of them relatively quickly, especially if you have a solid background in the subject.

I'll be happy to answer any other questions you have.

Hi "imalcolm", thanks so much for your reply. Its nice to know that you are student of this college. Now atleast I got peace of mind.

I am thinking to strart with their monthly plan, $100 per month as righ now follow to my personal budget. Do you have any experience if paying fees in monthly plan would bring any negative effect towards course?? like lesons and classes etc...

If you could share your experience with lessons and contact with tutors , that would be great.

    Thanks again.

I have completed BCIS from World College few months ago.

What imalcolm says is right about getting in to a master degree based on Bachelor's degree from World College.

However, make sure you complete at least 65 credits (out of 120) from the college you receive Bachelors Degree because when you apply for Masters Degree, they ask for the transcript showing at least 65 credits on undergraduate degree.

I would advise you on checking credit requirements with the Masters Degree offering schools/universities before you apply for credit transfer/waver at World College.

Here are a couple of Regionally Accredited universities that I know of accepts World College (nationally accredited by DETC) for theirs Masters Degree programs.

    University of Wisconsin System
    UW Wisconsin Stout
    TUI University

There will be no problem to get in to nationally accredited masters degree based on Bachelor's degree from World College.

    Hope this helps.

DETC issue aside, they have an interesting-looking curriculum for the Bachelor's degree in CIS - if course materials, support and grading standards are up to standard, this seems like a really well-rounded Bachelor's. Macro- and Micro-Economics, Marketing, Management and Business Communication among the general education requirements - that's cool. A+ and Network+ certification (if I understand well) among the requirements is also cool.

Actually from the viewpoint of working in the industry there are very few "wasted" credits in that curriculum if you're going the security route. Fact that they are owned by and associated with the Cleveland Institute of Electronics which seems to have been in DL for a long time now is also a plus.

    Thanks for this info. :)

Right now I am paying $125 per month. As long as you pay your tuition (and textbook charges) on time, you will get your lessons just as fast as if you paid in full. Typically they will ship your next course when you have completed half of the current one.

However - you will NOT graduate until you have completed the program AND paid everything that you owe.

As for the courses, most of them use typical college textbooks. You also get a study/test guide published by CIE/World College. Many of the tests are multiple choice that you can submit online, some are essay questions or projects such as software programs which are graded by different instructors depending on the course. There are some "supervised exams" but they are pretty lax about the rules, and the exams are open book.

Personally, I am a self-motivated learner, so I haven't needed much assistance from the instructors. The times that I have called the main office (in Cleveland, Ohio) there has always been someone to answer my questions. However, one instructor is pretty slow about returning grades.

Yes, this is the World College that is affiliated with the Cleveland Institute of Electronics and they are accredited by the Distance Education and Training Council. They're legit. On the other hand, national accreditation is considered in some circles to be less prestigious than regional accreditation. As to the grad school issue, you might ask the grad schools you'd like to get into if they'd accept a nationally accredited degree. You might, for example, look at the MS in Information Technology or the MBA in Information Technology from Western Governors University. Western Governors University www.wgu.edu is accredited by both the Distance Education and Training Council and the Northwest Association (both NA = nationally accredited and RA = regionally accredited). Then you can get into a PhD that is RA, like Northcentral University's www.ncu.edu PhD/DBA in Applied Computer Science or Pace University's www.pace.edu DPS in Computing.

I just earned BEET degree from World College. I had only positive experience with them. administrators, instructors and the Dean all did their best to handle my inquires, answer questions or explain lessons.

For me this was one of the best decisions I made.

OK Roger, go take a cold shower. No need for multiple posts. It's obvious that you're shilling for world college. Try not to be too boring about it.
BTW, I erased the repeated threads.

I'm not shilling. I can see how it can be perceived as shilling.
I'm recommending based on one person experience.

Man no need to be so negative not every one immediately is a shill or a troll.
And what 's wrong if I say some good words about them, they deserve it as far as I'm concerned. Its not like I'm employed there or sell classes etc.

    1. http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/shill

    2. I don't know you, who you are, where you work or anything about your connection to this school. It's clear that you're pumping them at us. There is no reason for me to believe that you're NOT working for them. Pardon me for my skepticism but I spend most of my time on this board removing the garbage. Most of that looks like your postings. I'd love it if I don't need to continue to look at this thread.

    3. Don't call me "man."
