People magazine dated 12/17/01 has an “in her own words” interview with Susan
Forward, author, therapist, and talk show host/guest. This interview says Forward holds a PhD in psychology from Kensington
University in Glendale, Calif. A quote from the interview says “There are so many land
mines”; while this quote is referring to in-laws, it could apply to her non-accredited (RA)
    degree.
(Oregon lists this as an illegal degree so is her book available in Oregon?)

Kensington has been operating since the 1970's. It is one of the few DL, doctorate-granting, unaccredited schools to continue operating after California required all unaccredited schools to be state-approved. However, they were denied re-approval 1995. They continue to operate from California, but with legal authority elsewhere. Not much to recommend anymore, if there ever was.

Based on an all-day meeting a few weeks ago with the eight hard-working and sincere people who run California's Bureau for Private Postsecondary and Vocational Education, it is clear to me that they would very much like to be able to regulate unapproved schools that are run from California but claim degree-granting authority from some other place. But they have no authority to so regulate, which is extremely frustrating to them.

I believe* they would include Kensington, Century, Kennedy-Western, Pacific Western (the unapproved one), Columbia Commonwealth, and others, in this category.

The Faculty in School of Accountancy of the Chinese University of Hong Kong has Kensington graduate (Jiang, Z.) and the related link is: http://www.baf.cuhk.edu.hk/acy/

How do you know? Their qualifications are not listed on the faculty/ staff page.

    Cheers,

  7. You need to click on the person's name. Here are credentials listed for Prof. Zhiang: BA (Nanking); LLM (Michigan); JD (Kensington); SJD (Michigan)

Don't understand why he'd want a mill JD. If accurate, his BA is likely in law (ie equivalent to a US JD) or this is a different Kensington. I cant see michigan admitting someone for the LLM and JSD without a law degree.

Regardless of where Susan Forward received her degree she represents what's wrong in therapy. She blames parents for irresponsible behaviors of adults. She is a female John Bradshaw who makes excuses for people when they make bad choices and act irresponsibly. Yes, many people do have horrible parents, I did, but when "I became a man..." I took responsibility for my own actions. Finding fault and blame-shifting wastes valuable time in solving the problems of life. No wonder nearly seven million people are on anti-depressants!
