    Hi there
does anyone know how to go about converting a South African LLB to a U.K accredited 1, incl requirements, courses etc? and if this can be done via distance learning?

    Any info would be helpful.
    thanks

The legal system in South Africa has a 'hybrid' or 'mixed' legal system comprised of three distinct legal traditions: a civil law system inherited from its Dutch colonizers, a common law system from its English colonizers, and African customary law.

While the article is about Scotland and the UK you might start with the various resources mentioned in the article. The legal system in Scotland is a hybrid system as noted here. I would suggest contacting a law firm in the specific legal jurisdiction within the UK where you want to practice and asking the question.

The U of London has a distance LLB that may allow you some credit. See the bottom of this page:

Since you have an LLB degree have you investigated an LLM degree?
