I would pass on that, I never heard of that institute before. Rather paying a little more money to get a certificate from actually university.

Villanova University offers Master Certificate in Six Sigma (all belts)

Not a problem, that is the only one that I can think of. Grand Canyon University used to offer Master and Certificate in Six Sigma, but I don't see on their site anymore.

Does he have his Green Belt? I found a good green belt course for $250.

    - University of Notre Dame does offer a lean six sigma black belt course through moresteam LLC

    http://www.nd.edu/~execprog/executivePrograms/online/sixSigma.shtml#courses

    http://www.moresteam.com/university/enroll/

    - You can take the Six Sigma Black Belt exam offered throught the American Society for Quality. They also offer the six sigma green belt exam.

    http://www.asq.org/certification/six-sigma/index.html

    - Excelsior College offers a Black Belt Certification program

    https://www.excelsior.edu/Center_for_Professional_Development/Programs/Business/Six_Sigma_Blackbelt

If what you are looking for is an online only six sigma course, verify that the program has no on-campus component. There are universities and colleges that offer blended on-campus/online six sigma programs.

From my experience ASQ is the industry standart in "blackbelting".
The problem is, that everyone can more or less issure six sigma belts since there is no institution protecting it.

Do you think it would carry more weight from someone like the ASQ (American Society for Quality) or a university?

You are welcome. I saved all the powerpoints and have used them a few times. I also purchased the book Six Sigma for Green Belts and Champions. It is a nice addition to my library.

    Six Sigma

As a Marine about to retire here is my .02 cents of information on Six Sigma. I used to laugh at Marine Net ,and still do from time to time , but I am going to pass on some vital information to you regarding this topic. Go onto Marine Net and complete the Six Sigma courses that are offered then complete the CMQ/OE courses. If you have time do the 29 Project Management Professional ( 5th edition courses ) as well. They are extremely time consuming but full of knowledge. The best part is that they are FREE and do hold weight in the civilian world believe it or not. Keep a copy of all of your Marine Net training CERTS because civilian employers pay huge amounts of money to send civilians to the same training that Marne Net qualifies you for. I am telling you that there is no mercy in the civilian sector when it comes to jobs. Just like the USMC when you get briefed on board for promotion the same theory applies to a resume. This advice is absolutely free and so is Marine Net. The Six Sigma courses Villanova offers I exceptional as well ad of course holds more value than Marine Net but if you decide to go just be prepared . It is not an easy course. Again....my .02 Semper Fi.
