I have studied 3.0 years of Engineering in Pakistan and then transferred to China to complete my Bachelors degree. I am planning to do a second bachelors degree. Can i use the same Pakistani credits to help me to get exemption for my second bachelors degree, provided that i hav used it once for credit transfer.

Usually, for a second bachelor's one would not need to repeat the general education requirements of the degree; rather, one would likely be exempted from the general education requirements on the assumption that one had already done those in the course of the first degree and what would be the requirements of the major field of studies, which would take up the equivalent of about one year's full time studies.

    Of course. Credits will transfer.

The usual procedure is to exempt non-major/non-core courses though. If you've already done major courses as well, you might be asked to do some other courses to replace them. But most likely, you'll still to do same number of major courses. But you will most likely be exempted from all non-major courses as long as your existing credits match up with their degree requirements.

Considering that you have no idea where the credits originated and where the credits are being transferred it seems rather cavalier of you to offer an "Of course..." How can you know what will transfer and what will not in this case?

You are right. I stand corrected. Generally speaking, credits should transfer as long as accreditation is proper. Exemption is usually granted for non-core/major courses.

Note to admin/Kizmet: I am not sure how this works. My post appears here, but my posts in other thread (UofL Canadian..) are still moderated. Why are some of my posts moderated and some are not?

Where? USA? Then probably not. You will need all transcripts sent to an evaluator like ECE to check if they are first of all recognized, and secondly what the equivalents would be in the US. I live in China, and work with students wishing to study overseas. Most universities, degree programs, etc. from here are NOT recognized in other countries as it is fairly well known that once you pay to get into university, almost no one ever fails. A few more bucks and get your dad to help at the admin and Fails mysteriously become passes.

I second that completely. Educational Credential Evaluators (ECE) www.ece.org may help you in your quest.

I heard a little about that, but how is the level of education if your opinion?
