I would like to take the GMAT in mid September, so I roughly have about 2 1/2 months to study starting end of this month. Just curious if these books are enough for study and work on obtaining a 575-625 range.

1.) Princeton Review's Cracking the GMAT with DVD
2.) Official Guide for Verbal Review
3.) Official Guide for Quantitative Review
4.) Official Guide for GMAT Review, 12th edition

The way to get a higher score on the GMAT is to be familiar with the types of questions you will be asked on the GMAT. Do as many practice tests as you can between now and the exam, revising after each test paying particular attention to the questions you got wrong. All of the study guides out there are pretty good, the important part is to see lots and lots of the type of questions that will be on the exam.

    Good luck!

so getting the books above should be enough as long as I understand the questions and work on those I get wrong correct? Meaning, the books above should be enough for the next two months. I can get all of the books listed for 70 dollars on Amazon.

I used the Princeton Review book and the Official Guide back when I was prepping for the GMAT. I can't comment as to the others. You can probably pick up older editions really cheap off of Amazon or Ebay, just make sure the Princeton review guide comes with the CD or DVD, depending on the edition. I don't know if it's still the case, but you used to be able to get two complete computer-administered GMAT tests from GMAC at mba.com. I used those as my baseline, taking the first test at the beginning of my prep, and taking the second at the end to measure my progress.

The books are not that expensive on amazon. I have links for each one and prices. My wife has a book called "The Bedford Guide for College Writers." I plan to read pages H-3 to H127 section "Introduction: Grammar, or The Way Words Work." Once the books arrive, I plan to review in the following format:

1.) Princeton Review's Cracking the GMAT with DVD $25.07 This will give me an introduction to GMAT and do all test.

complete everything on OG Verbal and Quantitative

2.) Official Guide for Verbal Review $11.53

3.) Official Guide for Quantitative Review $13.22

Finish off with guide below and AWA

4.) Official Guide for GMAT Review, 12th edition $21.60
