I'm considering applying to a DL MBA program which says it requires a minimum undergrad GPA of 3.0. When I graduated undergrad in 1995, I had a GPA of 2.9.

How rigid do these requirements tend to be? I've spent the last 13 years as a business reporter...I think that should count for much more than a measly 0.1 point on my undergrad GPA, which is ancient history by now. But then, I'm not a business school recruiter.

The answer may vary from school to school, but I'm interested in hearing some thoughts. Thanks.

What is their minimum GRE or GMAT score? If you took that and exceeded it by some small amount, that may make a difference. Personally, I was admitted to the University of Colorado Boulder in 1985, which then required a 3.0 GPA and an 80th %ile on the GRE, and I had a 2.944 GPA and an 80th %ile on the GRE. So, all's not lost. You could also apply to a "safe school" which will definitely accept a 2.9 GPA. Good luck!

Just apply to it, the worst case you'll be on probation for the first class....which you have to earn at least a "B" for full admission.
