Thanks for the info on Limestone. Sounds great and congratulations on your success there. I did have a couple of questions for you about course exams and CLEP testing. I guess these questions would basically apply to any distance education college or university but since I am now seriously considering Limestone, I thought Id direct them to you (I hope you dont mind). Do you take proctored exams for the courses at a facility in your area and if so, how does that work? How oftem have you done this? As far as "testing out" of certain subjects, are CLEPs administered locally or are they something you can do online? Sorry if these sound like stupid questions but Ive had no experience whatsoever in this area and Im very curious. Thanks for your help.

    Adam,
I have taken four internet courses so far and find them just as challenging. If you take them you will need to have a proctor approved, this person must have a bachelors degree like a school teacher, librarian etc. I have seen the form and it is a one page affair and not many hoops to jump thru. You will take at least two porctored exams per class, in fact I have never taken more than two.The professors usually include online quizzes to keep the exams from becoming to much of heavy hitters on you final grade.Once they approve your proctor( dont worry not a lengthy ordeal)they keep it on file so you will not have get approval for each class you take by internet!
Cleps are now on line and you can get your results as soon as the test is over, your local community college, university can administer them for you and then you have the results sent directly to Limestone. On the other hand, Dantes are "stubby" pencil and paper tests it takes about 4-6 weeks to get results back in. Likewise you also can have the results sent directly to Limestone the day you take your exam/exams I have seen the list of all the Clep/dantes they accept and it is quite a bit,you can pick your 30hrs of classes to test out of that range from electives to major courses. Hope to see you in class one day!
    Good luck,
    Gavin

    Adam,
Gavin here again,I went to the Limestone web site, you can get futher information by clicking onto " virtual program" then "virtual campus",then "resources"this will give you more information about the proctor information and even an application,
    hopefully this will help.
I simply can not say enough good things about Limestone, the staff is friendly
and helpful, the professors truly care but also mean business!I once tried things at a large local univesity but began to feel like a cow going through a processing plant! Lots of my evening classmates express the same view! I know this sounds like a sales pitch from someone who works commission but belive me,I just simply like this college and have to give my bucks to them just like anyone else!
    Best,
    -Gavin

    Gavin,

Thanks for the info. Im glad to hear that CLEPs are now available online. Shouldnt be too difficult choosing a Proctor and getting them approved. Youve helped me out a great deal. I plan to a little more research but youve helped me to narrow down my selection a great deal. Good Luck to you.
