    Hi All,

I'm new to this site but have been considering an online degree for some time, mainly because my son is in college and it's too costly for me to put the two of us in school. I did some research and came across Western Governors University. Any one had experience with them? My interest is a BA in Human Resources. Any bits and pieces of info will be appreciated.

Western Governors University www.wgu.edu is a perfectly legit school which is accredited by the Northwest Association and the Distance Education and Training Council. There's a very opinionated guy named Henry W. over at elearners.com www.elearners.com who likes Western Governors University a lot.

Thanks for posting the site. I'm especially interested in WGU because of their competency based approach along with the prospect that I can possibly complete my undergraduate before the 4yr term. Their tuition is a plus for me also, my son's college tuition is drowning me right now. I was also looking at the Univ of Wyo but I don't think they offer anything in HR just Business Mng I think. It's comforting to know more and more employers are acknowledging online degrees.

Alas, I just checked and it appears that both the University of Wyoming's www.uwyo.edu online BSBA and their online MBA are both general programs (no concentration).

There is a lot of information on this forum on how tuition costs can be reduced. Mostly it involves earning credit at lower cost schools and credit by testing using CLEP or DANTES/DSST.
Let us know what courses you and your son or interested in and I'm sure you will get suggestions.
