I just noticed that Capella now offers a DPA thats completely online and has no residencies: http://www.capella.edu/schools_programs/public_service/dpa/general_public_administration.aspx I wonder if the school is getting away from the residencies all together, the last doctorate program they started, which was the Ed.D program does not have a residency requirement either.
A DPA from NASPAA accredited B&M Valdosta State to include the travel costs of the residencies is going to cost me about $15,000 (books, tuition, travel - everything). The Capella program is $2150 per 4 hour course (18 of them=$38,700) and $4000 per dissertation course (4 total = $16,000). That is just tuition.
Cool! This allows one more option, and it was expected that Capella would start an online DPA (or other doctorate in public administration) inasmuch as their cross-town competitor Walden offers the PhD in Public Policy and Administration.
