Does anyone know of any Independent Study courses for Business Law 2. The college my oldest son is attending does not accept DSST's so that's not an option.
Maybe these courses are options – if your son has Bus Law 1 then the first may not work. Coastline CC offers BUS C110 on-line both this Summer and in the Fall Legal Environment of Business http://www.coastline.edu/ LSU offers two courses BLAW 3201 Business Law BLAW 4203 Commercial Transactions for Accountants http://www.is.lsu.edu/courselist.asp?cat=Business+Law&nid=102&pg=
Penn Foster offers Business Law as independent study in correspondence format. If I am not wrong the class is $90 (when i took classes it was 65) x credit hour = $270 and that includes the textbook and you need to ad $25 for the final proctored examination plus whatever fee your proctor charges. Oh and you can fax the proctor form instead of sending it over the mail and waiting forever. Call this number for independent classes: 1.800.233.0259 ext. 4104 PS You can divide the cost of the class in 2 payments if you are going to pay everything up front try asking for a discount and let us know if it worked thanks and good luck
Just to clarify Penn Foster offers Business Law I and II as independent study and the classes are ACE approved so they most likely transfer to a RA institution
In looking for something else I came across this Business II DSST exam: http://www.getcollegecredit.com/downloads/factsheets/Business%20Law%20II.pdf
Don't be so fast to assume your son's school won't accept DSST exams. At the University of Wyoming, I was able to get departmental approval to use CLEP and DSST exams that were not officially listed as being accepted by petitioning the dean of the school that offered the equivalent class. Your son might be able to do something similar. Best of luck!
I would like to suggest you to search for more universities like Ashford University, Colorado Technical University, Kaplan University, Strayer University. These universities also provides degree in law and many more.
Unfortunately, he failed the Business Law 1 CLEP by one point. That changes everything. Since he needs Business Law 1 and 2 to graduate in May 2010, he's taking a BL1 Independent Study course this summer through the University of Missouri. Then he'll take BL 2 in the spring. We have already asked about the DSST and SNU said no. But, they've changed registrars since then, so we'll recheck.
