International University

    Hi:

    I recently ran across this school, located in Panama, during a google search of a school with a similar name (United States International University, although I think they have changed the name). This is a school that I'm not too familiar with, as compared to other 'institutions' which are inquired about on this board.

    Just curious if anyone has any interesting information or experiences with this school. Once you visit the website you'll see why.

    In 2006 they were in Missouri, http://web.archive.org/web/20060808073156/http://www.internationaluniversity.edu/

    The ODA says "Does not have authority to issue some of the degrees that it issues. Contact Missouri Coordinating Board for Higher Education for validity of specific degrees." http://www.osac.state.or.us/oda/unaccredited.aspx

    In 2007 they were still claiming to be in Missouri. In 2008 they still claimed to be Missouri but also were associated with another silly place, West Coast University, in Panama, "Incorporation: West Coast University (WCU) is incorporated in the Republic of Panama, Central America," http://web.archive.org/web/20080203135503/http://www.internationaluniversity.edu/

    Today, they are no longer pretending to be in Missouri.

    Listed as illegal or restricted use degrees in Oregon, Texas, Michigan, and Maine. Also restricted or illegal in about a half dozen other states.
