Is there anyone here who has taken courses or completed a degree program from iwuonline? If so, do they use proctored exams, and also could you describe your experience with this school? I've sent off some emails to their admissions contact people but not getting a response. I may have to just call, but any feedback would be appreciated (especially the exam part because I live a good ways from any authorized proctoring centers).
I contacted them once to see if I could take a couple of classes before matriculating, as many schools allow. Apparently, that wasn't an option with IWU. Since they weren't willing work with me on this I ended my communications with them.
In other words, you were just trying to take some individual courses without enrolling into a program and they would not let you? That's interesting. They have a form on their site where one can register as "Unclassified": http://caps.indwes.edu/electives/undergraduate/Unclassified-Elective-Registration-Form.pdf I'm not sure what the deal is though.
I go to one of their extension schools to take all my CLEP and DSST exams, and I love it there. They are more organized and helpful than Ivy Tech, and now I won't go anywhere else to take my tests. I remembered this post while I was there today and picked up a brochure for the online MBA program and asked my proctor a few questions. She says that you can take up to eighteen credits of free electives only for an undergrad degree without being enrolled as a degree-seeking student, but after that you do have to enroll. And yes, she said the Master's program is totally online, no proctored exams. Hope that helps!
