I'm sorry I forgot to include that the post above was posted by Dr. Peter Osterling, Provost. I would be glad to answer any further questions regarding Eastern Conservatory by contacting me below: [email protected] 877-266-9217 or through the post at: Eastern Conservatory 1107 Stephens St. Greensboro, NC 27406
Peter, I'm delighted that you posted this clarification, and apologize for assuming that you were Terry Poteat, who had submitted previous posts on the AED newsgroup. Other than that, my comments stand. Perhaps, then, you will enlighten us as to your own credentials, including the source and field of your Ph.D. (since a Ph.D. in music performance is not as common as the D.M.A.). I would also be curious as to the source of Terry Poteat's D.M.A., since the bio cited in a previous post (in the other Eastern Conservatory Thread) referred to his having a D.Min. from Covington and made no mention of a D.M.A. at all. Again, welcome to the forum.
Dr. Osterling, your explanations are appreciated. I have, however, a major concern with the following statement from your website: We are currently in the accreditation process with an accrediting association whose purpose is accrediting distance learning schools. This process will be complete by the spring quarter (March 2002). It is inconceivable to me that an accreditation process for a school that has not begun courses could be "complete" within a few months (or, indeed, ever). If, perchance, you mean that your process of making application will be complete, then I feel your wording is misleading, since it suggests you will be accredited by then.
