looking for a Calculus 2 course with no tests

This question is sparked by Dono's question about a degree program without tests.

My daughter is going to a B&M military college and took Calculus 2 (integration, etc.) this spring and then dropped it. I was going to have her retake it during the summer at the local community college, but then Dono's question makes me want to ask:

Are there any colleges which would offer a DL-version Calculus 2 course that she could take in an independent learning fashion (that is, without being signed up for their degree program), which would have no tests? She also doesn't test well.

She'd be willing to work any number of written assignments and group projects. (This would also have to be from a RA college in order for her to be able to transfer the credits back to her military college.)

I doubt that you will find a course meeting your requirements.

It is probably much easier to take calculus courses at a B&M campus rather than via DL unless the student is good at math.

    TEKMAN Semper Fi!

Most of the courses assesment by written form and research; but you can't do that in Math. Therefore, I don't think you can find any Calculus course without examination.

Why would you say that? Are the exams via DL typically harder in Calculus than taken at a B&M campus?

Even if there are tests, I can tutor my daughter in Calculus at home as needed for during a DL class.

I guess as an alternative to test-free Calculus, I'd be interested in looking into any RA DL Calculus 2 classes that have relatively "gentle" exams!

    Take a look here:

    LSU Independent Learning
MATH 1552 - Analytic Geometry and Calculus II

I've seen a few members refer people to LSU for independent DL. It looks like a student would have nine months to complete this course at their own pace. However, testing will still need to be proctored at a local facility; I don't you can get out of the need for testing with a course like Calculus II. Good luck!

I teach a calculus II course online for Bakersfield College.
    There are online tests, but

    1. They are not timed.
    2. They may be worked on and then submitted when complete.
    3. They may be resubmitted.

So they really aren't your usual sort of timed "tests".

There is only one real test for the course, the final exam.
But that isn't timed really. I allow students as much time as they need
to complete the final, although they must do it in one sitting.

Honestly, this is the closest you're likely to find to an
online calculus II class without "tests".

To find out more about my class, please go to
