Hi, I just saw from some old posts that someone has done Diploma / BA from Cambridge International College, UK. The college states that we have to select our invigilator at our own. If someone has done this, how did you went about it ?

    Thanks.

    Bogus Degrees Warning

Cambridge International College is not authorized to award degrees from the United Kingdom.

"It is an offence in the UK for any organisation to offer a degree qualification which could be taken to be that of a UK institution unless the body making the offer is recognised by the UK authorities. The relevant legislation in this area is section 214 of the Education Reform Act 1988.

Organisations suspected of committing an offence under this Act will be reported to the appropriate Local Trading Standards Department for investigation which could lead to prosecution."

Well, Cambridge International College is only awarding diplomas and not the degrees. There two programs are doubtful, that is, BA and MBA etc. However, they term it to as Baccalaureate and Mastery of Business Administration? Rest diplomas are ok.

However, there other programs are recognized by ASET (which is an British Accreditation Body).

What do you advice about ASET ?

I looked at these guys and admit I'm confused. This school is pretty tough to peg because there are red flags but I'm not seeing the dead give aways that I normally see. I'd say it's better safe than sorry and keep looking.

According to Merriam-Webster, a baccalaureate is ": the degree of bachelor conferred by universities and colleges"

    http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/baccalaureate

"THE CIC BACCALAUREATE IN MATERIALS & LOGISTICS ADMINISTRATION (BLA) PROGRAMME" - I think they are trying to deceive the public into thinking that Cambridge International College awards degrees at the bachelors level. Also, the advanced mastery in business administration? Are they trying to deceive the public into thinking that they award a Masters in Business Administration?

What do you mean by BA? If you know that they offer diplomas and not degrees, why did you include BA after diploma? They don't offer MBA's of anything

Yes, you are right. But my question remains intact. Do these people have the right to offer a diploma level education ?

Even that remains in question since ASET is now EDI. Either their authority has expired or set to expire.

Cambridge International University says that they are accredited by ODLQC. ODLQC is not listed as an awarding body by the UK Government. Cambridge International University says that ODLQC is a british accrediting body but that does not seem to be true. Now EDI ( formerly ASET ) is listed as an awarding body. I have yet to find a listing of organizations that offer ASET/EDI accredited diplomas. Also, Cambridge International University is not listed in the UK register of learning providers.

These guys seem to be ok. Has anyone ever heard of stonebridge? You can e-mail them and ask questions about their course accreditation and verification. They are listed in the UK register of learning providers, something CIU should think about if they truly offer ASET accredited
    courses.

"The UK Register of Learning Providers is a 'one-stop' portal to be used by government departments, agencies, learners, and employers to share key information about learning providers. The UKRLP allows providers to update their information in only one place and share this across agencies such as, the Learning and Skills Council, the Careers Advice Service, the Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA), the Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE) and UCAS."

Sorry if I came across as harsh. This forum runs into people promoting their organization that sometimes comes across as millish and with the intention
    of misinforming consumers of education.

Also, i called EDI just now, and they said that they accrediate their education on their education level scale.

So they are. So now we establish that they are listed on the registrar. So I assume by your other posting and phone call that the courses they offer are accredited by ASET/EDI. Is this correct? Are you interested in signing up or are you shilling for the school ( now im getting harsh again )?

To give you options and I gave you more. Cause I care and because I can. If you don't like Stonebridge, don't use them and pick another school. Take care and wish you the best.
