I am thinking about going to a school who is accredited by the "International Association for Continuing Education and Training". www.iacet.org. Are they a legitimate accrediting agency? If anyone has any information about them, let me know.

They are a legitimate agency, attempting to bring some order to the wildly unregulated world of Continuing Education Credits, but they are not an accrediting agency.

There is a recognized accrediting agency in the field of continuing education, but it isn't them.

It would be interesting to learn which school claims to be accredited by them.

    To IACET

As you may know, I write books on higher education, distance learning, accreditation, etc. I would be grateful if you could clarify one point for me.

There is a school that says, a dozen or so times on their website and in their literature, that they are "Fully Accredited" by IACET. And yet I do not find, on your website, that you are in the business
of accrediting schools, nor do I find you among the accreditors recognized by CHEA or the US Department of Education.

I am, of course, not questioning your legitimacy, but only whether the Washington Online Learning Institute correctly reports that they are fully accredited by IACET.

Thank you so much for this clarification.
