Question about transfer credits and multiple degrees

So I'm 3 credits short of my AA degree at St. Petersburg College. I need 64 credits and have 61. I transferred in about 30 credits from work I did toward an associate degree in 1980-1981 from another local school, Hillsborough Community College.

So my question is: can I now transfer the credits I've earned at SPC over to HCC and pick up a second associate degree? I mean, two AA degrees don't mean a whole lot, but if I could get a second degree by taking a class or two over at HCC, it might be worthwhile to add the sheepskin to my wall.

    Does it work that way?

Are you talking about two AA degrees or starting a different associates degree like AAS?

There'd be no point in two AA degrees at all. But you could start another, but you'd be better off going for a BA/BS.

If you were to transfer the credits over prior to receiving recognition of your degree from SPC in theory you could do it, but afterwards most 2-year schools would require at least 15 additional credits. At least that's the way they work here in VA.

You want to double dip using the same credits to get two identical degrees? Somehow you'll have to read the intent to graduate form wording very carefully, I think this might violate college policy of one or both of the schools. I know when I graduated from TESC last year, I had to sign a document saying I wasn't doing exactly what you are talking about- I don't have the paper (you send it in LOL clever of them, and hindsight error for me).
Not hearing this first hand, but I know second hand that Excelsior college has a similar policy from a discussion on another board. That said, I'm sure you could try it- I'm just not sure if it's worth it, it isn't going to make your resume any stronger to have 2 associate degrees in the same area..it's like 2 high school diplomas- and I don't mean that the level of the degrees are like diplomas, I mean that the duplication is like having two duplicate high school diplomas, more curious than useful.
