I'm seriously considering getting my MBA w/concentration in Accounting from Brenau University. I'm curious if anybody has taken courses here and would like to get your feedback.

I was considering UMass-Lowell but I noticed that Brenau University is almost cutting like 50% of the tuition if you are a veteran of the Armed Forces. That comes out like $8,460 for tuition to obtain an MBA and seems like a good route for a regionally accredited school.

I would like to get your feedback on this school. I am six weeks away from fininshing my last two business courses to get my B.S. in General Business from Excelsior. I know I will need to take some additional accounting courses to meet the preq. for the accounting concentration, but still looks like a good deal.

Yeah, I noticed that and please understand that I am NOT a male chauvinist. Heck, I've been married 22 years and learn to obey. lol j/k.

I just can't stop thinking about how low that price is and if I do have Brenau University on my resume, how many prospective employers would really know the B&M campus is a woman's college? Also, if I have my CPA and MBA w/accounting on my resume would it make a difference between this school, UMASS Lowell, or other school that has accounting concerntation w/MBA. For me, it's like 7,000 dollars cheaper.

I guess I'm trying to rationalize why this seems like a good deal, but would like to get other ppl info on this school.

I don't think it's as much of an issue as you make it out to be. Many women's colleges have gone co-ed, and they have great programs. St. Mary of the Woods College is a good example. They have made their journalism program available to men and women via DL for years, although their on-campus program wasn't co-ed until just recently. Leslie University is another example, and they are highly regarded for their Education programs. If the college is good, I don't think it matters if it is known primarily as a "woman's college". What matters is the education.

Yeah, when you're standing around the watercooler everyone's gonna say that your a girl because you went to a girls school. That is, if anyone will ever hire you because, after all, you went to a girls school!!! HA!

Be secure....man up. It's probably a good school and the price is right. Who cares if it's a chick's school. I think there used to be testemonials from guy students. I don't think anybody would look down on you over this school.

At this price, it's also a school I would consider myself, since I am a veteran. However, you must have an RA undergrad to get into their graduate programs.

If you are looking for the price, then BU is good; however, if you are looking for name school. Then stick with University of Mass. Let say you have a conversation with somebody at LAX, you said that you graduate from Breneau University that person doesn't know where the school. If you tell him that you graduated from UMass, he knows it is in Massachusetts.

For chicks' school, Texas Women University in Denton has 10% are men.

I know in Virginia we had quite a few all women's colleges. They were private schools, and rather expensive, but the funny thing is that they would admit a very minute number of men on "minority" scholarships.

I had a friend go to Sweetbriar College and would tell us all the time about the 2 or 3 guys that went there.

It's like an HBCU. There are white people that go there too.

Being from out of the area, I had never heard of the school you mentioned. I never would have known it was an all girl's school.
