Yes, it is an amazing tale. Incidentally, the "Scorpions" referred to in the article are the Special Branch or Special Investigations unit.
I don't know if we currently have any UNISA students on this forum (active or lurking) but I would be very much interested in hearing how this scandal is effecting the students (especially the DL students). Please chime in if you have any first hand information. Thanks, Jack
I don't have first-hand information, but I doubt that there has been any short-term impact on students. Another link: Nov 30 Mail & Guardian editorial.
I'm guessing (and hoping) that you're right. My renewed interest is due to the fact that UNISA has risen dramatically on my "Go To" list. I am in contact with IACI (did I get that right?) and am in the process of completing the initial registration form. Thanks for the links, Jack
I am a DL at UNISA. I did not even realise the extent of the problems affecting my university. So far this has not affected my studies. Our final exams were written in Oct/Nov, and our new year only starts in late January next year. I have already received all my study guides for the next year, so I have not encountered any problems. Hopefully they will sort things out quickly.
