I'm wondering if anyone has done the portfolio assessment through EC or COSC? It sounds like COSC has an easier system and is willing to award more credit through the assessment process. The EC description makes it sound more difficult and costly and almost like they don't want to encourage its use. I'm hoping some here have used the assessments at EC or COSC and can give me some feedback. I'm considering these two schools for my BS degree, but I'm already enrolled at EC and can get my BS program fee waived if I continue on with EC. But if COSC will give more credit via the portfolio assessment I will finish faster and for possibly less money overall. I would like to complete the BS degree in 12 months or less if possible. Thanks in advance for your assistance with this matter.

Wow !!! Fritzy… great observation. I had the very same feeling when reading the Portfolio Assessment info from EC.. It is like they really don’t want you do go that route, is like they are going out of their way to discourage it….

I just posted similar question, but since it was my first post, it has to be “approved” by a moderator.
Any info that you might have using PortAssmt from COSC or EC would be greatly appreciated..

Lots of colleges provide credit by portfolio. Do a Google seach using terms college portfolio credit.

Steve Levicoff, an occasional poster on this site, earned a lot of credit via portfolio at TESC. He has documented his experience but I don't have a reference.
