ok - it's me again trying to figure this out.........my question:

I know what the AACSB accredidation is and know their website listing schools. My question is: Is it the School that is accredited, or is it the Business Program that is accredited? My dilemma is that I do not want to go for an MBA due to my wanting to teach online and needing the 18 credits in the subject, etc. I have looked at AACSB accredited "schools" and have found MS in Management or MS in Leadership programs that really fit my need....but do these degrees/grad certs. fall under the AACSB accredidation? Most of the online degrees/certs. I have found are located in the Professional Studies programs at the school (not in the actual Business program)......

I hope I am making sense - - my eyeballs are spinning in my head at this point.....thanks for your help!

As an Example: Gonzaga University.....AACSB accredited, but is their MA in Leadership also AACSB accredited?

go to the AACSB website for each school:

    AACSB accredited schools by name

    Gonzaga

at the link for each school it will list the accredited programs.

I don't see the MA Leadership listed for Gonzaga's business school.

So I need to go to the AACSB school list and open up the profile for each school to see which degrees are accredited I guess.....example: for University of Montana it says MBA and Accounting -- so it appears they are accrediting the actual degree

BUT, there is a check mark in the "Other" degree box, so that could/might include the leadership program. So I think more investigation might be needed.

The MA-Leadership is located in the School of Professional Studies not the Business School. Of course a phone call might lend some light.

.......and to further confuse.....this is what the University of Wyoming website says......

    Quote:
The College of Business is AACSB International accredited.
The College offers 7 undergraduate and 7 graduate degree programs.

Undergraduate Degree Programs at the College of Business:

    Accounting
    Business Administration
    Economics
    Business Economics
    Finance
    Management
    Marketing

Graduate Degree Programs at the College of Business:

    Accounting
    Business Administration (on-campus and online)
    Economics
    Finance
    Dual Economics and Finance
    Phd in Economics

    end of quote

This has been a common situation with DL institutions.

For example, Central Michigan University has an AACSB accredited business school that offers MBA degrees. They also offer an MS in Administration at campuses all over the world to thousands of students. Te MSA program is not AACSB accredited.

One can easily be confused - the MSA program has courses like "Marketing Administration" that may look like they come from an MBA program, but don't.

AACSB and ACBSP have some concerns about matters like this. AACSB for example, requires institutions to "Maintain accurate institutional publicity regarding accreditation".

    Regards - Andy
