I am looking for a bachelor's degree program that will allow me to transfer my language courses in French and Portuguese (I have 23) to complete another degree. I am thinking that a bachelor's degree in Liberal Studies or Interdisciplinary Studies would be perfect. I am missing upper level language courses in both languages because the universities where I am located do not offer such classes. In addition, in the US there is a huge lack of online/distance learning programs in languages. Does anyone know of a bachelor's program that will allow me to take the core courses of the program, and then let me "dump" my foreign language credits as a specialization or concentration? I already have another bachelor's degree in an unrelated field so I am thinking of transfering some of those credits too! Thanks!
I think Thomas Edison State College is best fit for your situation... TESC's Bachelor of Arts in Foreign Language
I like this school, however they have too many upper level course requirements that I don't have in my area. I can maybe squeeze in 6 more classes related to the languages, French Civilization, etc., but that will not help me with the language elective courses.
Do you know if they would accept Latin courses for this? I know some schools don't consider Latin a foreign language in the modern sense. -Matt
Check out the University of London's programs via Royal Holloway (one of their constituent colleges). UoL is a royally chartered university with a good reputation. I know they have a degree in French. http://www.londonexternal.ac.uk/prospective_students/undergraduate/index.php
