So as some of you know I am finishing up my MBA through CSU but have decided to make a switch to teaching. I have spoken to a few people about my grandfather through PM's (who passed away 3 months before I was born) and shared the fact he was a former school teacher and principal. To make a long story short: I have my email set up to let me know if any news articles are posted on the internet that contain my name. I logged in today and saw that something had been added, or so I thought... I checked the email and come to find out someone had posted a link to my grandfather's MS thesis from the University of Tennessee in 1953. My father and I communicate very little and even less about my grandfather, so needless to say this was an extremely exciting coincidence considering where I am in my life and my studies. Anyway, just wanted to share that with some folks who might appreciate it.
(Okay, someone needs to be the first to say it...) I don't get it. What's the coincidence? Why is it important that you are switching to teaching? What does your father have to do with it? Am I too stupid?
I think the coincidence is that the OP just made the switch to teaching and out of the blue, he is provided a link to his grandfathers MS thesis who also happened to be a teacher. For someone not knowing much about their grandfather, I'd imagine this is a pretty sweet find.
What did your grandfather get his master's degree in? What was his thesis topic? Can you post the link?
http://www.worldcat.org/oclc/79212397 Fentress County is the school system where he was teacher, principal, and administrator.
Not stupid at all. The coincidence is that I just made the decision to switch to education and I in the process of starting a second masters when that email shows up. Just very strange considering I have found nothing else about my grandfather on the net. I cited my father because we do not communicate so I have little to no knowledge of my grandfather. Maybe I was a bit too excited lol.
