Guys, what are the easiest subjects/specializations to get a masters on? I have always found subjects like English literature or History (although it requires a lot of memory of dates and periods) to be easy especially when considering a person likes reading a lot like stories and applying the knowledge over test outs.

Sometimes lesser hard-workers can also get through such subjects. So here is the main question. Which subject have you found ridiculously easy to get a graduation/post graduation on? And the reasons for the same . (Just incase it might benefit a few readers who haven't made up their minds in getting a degree in a certain specialization and need just a degree to get going ahead in their careers)

Accounting, I guess because it comes natural to me, or perhaps because I like to financial scrutinize everything, hence, for the nickname "The Accounting Monster". :D

Its all work. Its all monotenous, its all theory, most of it hardly applies to any real work area.

I love reading history, but as soon as I am asked to write a paper about what I have read, I have no more interest.

Go to Monster, Dice, HotJobs, CareerBuilder, etc and type in Masters Degree in the search term. This will let you know which degree will have some utility as far as employment.

Or you can just pick something that you are interested in and do it for the vanity and ego boost that comes with saying you have a "Masters" degree.

By using my GI Bill I make around $400 extra per month by attending AMU, that is the only reason that I am attending school.

3,2,1...till someone comes in to chide for asking about the "easy" way out.

maybe to you. I'd run away from my desk if I were to be asked to account for simple debit and credit math.

The easiest masters degree will be the one in the subject you love and are most passionate about.

Ding ding ding, winner winner chicken dinner. That is the best answer to this type of question.

I love history and regret going for my MBA instead of an MA in history. I plan to remedy that as soon as I graduate though :D (that is if I can't get into a Pretoria Ph.D. program).

i once came across this degree "Master of Arts in Gandhian thoughts and principles". I was pleased to see the degree had just a ton of good natured stuff to practice in one's life. Like what Gandhi did. Its like whats the best situation after you get slapped hard in your face. Show the other cheek! While you get a degree easy, you'd bet your bottom dollar that you'd not practice what you preach. Would you? :D

I wouldn't touch this question with a 10 foot pole. Somebody's sure to be offended.

    Yup.

Alternatively, you can always get a Master's of the Universe:

Well let me say this. You may think history is an easy MA to obtain, I certainly did not. I graduated with a 3.62 and had a 170 page thesis while working 60 hours per week. It challenged me. Again, you could be amazingly smarter than I am ( you probably are), but it challenged me.

Rocket science was lots of fun and always interesting to me. But then I specialize in a technology few people are knowledgable about and I am always in demand.

The fact you were working 60 hours a week while in a graduate program made it much more difficult. :) I would imagine that if you were able to study it full time without working, it would have been much easier to finish.

A master's program is supposed to be challenging. Isn't that why we enroll? If it were a simple matter of getting a card punched and suddenly you have an MA in History, what would be the point? I think that if you love something, the challenges will be enjoyable and there won't seem to be as much work as compared to studying something you aren't that excited about.

I'll let you know in a few months if I still agree with the above. ;) I took my GRE today so I can apply for the History program at Sam Houston State University. Maybe I'll learn that studying History is the hardest work I've ever done!
