    Hi all!

This is my first post, please be gentle!

I am working full time in government and would like to get my MPA for professional reasons. There is no college or university where I live (and I cannot move away) so it needs to be online (either totally online or a minimum resident component like a week or two per year). Also, given that I've done an LSAT and grad school before, I don't want to have to write another standardized test like the GRE and I want the school to be accredited by the national association of schools of public affairs. Cost doesn't matter (I'd go to Harvard or Columbia if only they offered the program!) but I would like to be at a known B&M school because of name recognition if I ever decide to work overseas.

So far I have applied to Depaul and UIS. Any opinions on these schools or their MPA programs? How do they compare? Any others that you think I should consider?

    Thanks!!

    IJ

You might want to bounce this list off national rankings or reputation in your local area.

You didn't state whether you work in the federal, state or local government but I work in the federal sector and would recommend you consider the MBA as an alternative based upon the degrees you list. You can obtain a significant MBA if cost isn't a factor, although you might have some limited residencies.

How about a doctorate? Valdosta state recently announced and is providing a DPA (Doctorate Public Administration) that has limited residencies and is offered at in state tuition. Otherwise use the NSPAA list below for approved MPA programs.
