I know I've seen it around. This gentleman earned an accounting certificate from LSU. I have a friend who needs a book to take one of those courses (Business Law) that has been impossible to find and I'd like to buy it if you still have it.

While waiting, what is the ISBN of the book you need?

She's looking for 0-324-00673-X*** and I've tried some Internet searches but haven't found anything. Amazingly, she found the text but not the goofy study guide and I'm trying to get it as a gift.

"This textbook is in limited supply. You must use the 11th edition to take this course. If you are able to purchase the study guide that accompanies the textbook, you may enroll in the course." looks like the study guide may not be needed.

I believe that friendorfoe has completed the LSU accounting certificate, but I'm pretty sure you're thinking of someone else.

I searched and all I came across where some threads where others were also looking for the same study guide (one said he found it for $300..). I am apalled that LSU would require the use of such a hard to find text unless their bookstore offered it...

Did find this link though: http://www.papamedia.com/item.php?code=032400673X (though it says "Back-order. Allow up to 8 weeks to source this title") for $111.95

You got me. And, of course, she has the text so I doubt the study guide would add much anyway. LSU has about 2 weeks to figure out if they want her money or she'll pay 2x the amount to take the course through Indiana U. Really dumb move on their part. That particular edition was written in 1999!!!

agreed.. I have had study guides and have used very very few of them (networking ones, yes, but other texts.. not at all).

I feel for you but (and her) LSU really needs to move and update the course to at least use the most recently published text along with an easy to find study guide..

I was taking the Cert. in Accounting. Sorry don't have the book and for the record, I dropped out. Turns out Accounting isn't my thing.

Unfortunately, LSU seems to be rather slow when updating the courses with newer edition textbooks. I have seen courses put on 'hold' for more than a year when the textbooks became hard to find. It is a shame too. Especially since LSU is one of the least expensive, independent study options available for people trying to find courses to fulfill requirements at another school.

Accounting isn't for everyone but I would think that taking dry classes like Intermediate I and II 'by mail' would be one of the loneliest experiences imaginable. You may surprise yourself in a different modality.

I am sure the OP will be thrilled to receive an offer from someone who apparently registered on this board only to sell the book, almost half a year after the request. ;)

I am not at all surprised by LSWho. Those corndogs need to get it right.
