    Hi,

I want to pursue a career in School Psychology. I’m not sure if this is the right area to ask this question, but I’ll give it a shot. I want to go to an accredited university for a PhD in School Psychology after I complete my BS. My question is about the online psychology BS degree programs, as I've seen many. I don't think they accredit undergraduate schools, but will I be okay getting my BS in an online university before going to an accredited school for a PhD. Due to my scheduling the online programs seem ideal for me. Are there online schools that hold a higher tier than others?

    Thank You.

    Sincerely,

    Brad

I looked into school psych a while back. Most of the programs I saw required a Masters before you could even attempt a PhD. I don't really think it matters what your undergrad degree is in, as long as it is accredited. My BA was in history. I didn't really take many psych classes, so that might actually have put me at a disadvantage when applying to a competitive school. I ended up changing my plans though, so it really didn't matter to me after all. You would still want to check your state to see if they want NA or RA for either degree. Virginia requires RA for everything.
