Hello, I am brand new to Distance Education, or any higher education for that matter, and I am hoping to find some information regarding schools in Texas. Basically, I am looking for a 100% online bachelor's program in Marketing or business, but from a school which also has a physical location. I understand that UoP has a couple physical locations here but I am really interested in schools that originated and are ONLY located in Texas. Any recommendations? In addition, How does the class distribution for online degrees typically compare to that of Brick and Mortar. In other words, is 12-15 hours a semester still the standard with online coursework? I'm sure I will have other questions but this should get me started in the right direction. Thank you!
Listed by State: http://www.geocities.com/liu_jonathan/dlmba.html, you can check if any of those listed offers a bachelor's in marketing.
Dallas Baptist University has a Bachelors of Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing that can be completed online. Check it out here. The University of Houston-Victoria also has a Bachelors of Business Administration in Marketing that can be completed online. Courseload and work should be equal to the on-ground classes.
Hi Marvin - Here's one from Texas State (San Marcos) http://www.studyanywhere.txstate.edu/edl_bachelor_of_business_administration I'd be surprised if there aren't more because I think the state university system in Texas has a pretty well developed set of distance learning offerings.
Here is a BBA-marketing from University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio. Also, you may want to consider starting at a community college and then transferring to another school. Central Texas College has a lot of online associate degrees. If you go that route, you could then finish a BSBA at Texas AM Commerce online or transfer to the University of Houston program already listed. Texas has a lot of options.
Thank you so much for all of the feedback. I had no idea online learning was a s "common" as it is. Lots of good schools listed. Glor : I am definitely going community college route. Way more affordable. Thanks!
Southwestern Adventist University www.swau.edu and Southwestern Assemblies of God University www.sagu.edu both offer bachelor's degrees in business and marketing by distance learning.
Wayland Baptist University (WBU.edu) has several online degree programs. Their main campus is in Plainview and they have campuses in Lubbock, San Antonio, Amirillo and Withita Falls.
