In July 2008, I finished my educational leadership credential program and landed an AP position soon right after. Tried going back to Cal Poly(regular school) to complete my masters, but due to the distance and time I was not able. I have been searching online schools that will consider transferring some of my units( completed 41). I've been speaking to Jones, Amberton and Liberty.Really, all I need is a masters for my resume. Does anyone have any feedback on these schools.

Well, Amberton is the cheapest but offers no financial aid.

Liberty is well known and in my area very well respected but some people don't agree with their politics. Usually people who do agree with Berkeley's ;)

    And Jones... Well... Which Jones?

Is there a reason you narrowed it down to these 3 schools? What is your desired major?

If you've already completed some graduate courses, here is the breakdown for the schools you mentioned:

Amberton will allow 12 hours to be transferred. They do not have an education degree, although their Professional Development degree seems very flexible.

Jones International has an M.Ed. and allows 9 hrs of transfer credit.

Liberty U has an M.Ed. and only allows 6 hours of transfer credit.

Of those 3, it seems that Amberton would be the most flexible with transfer hours.

I would also suggest American Public University. They have several M.Ed. degrees and will allow a maximum of 15 hours of graduate transfer credit. If you could max that out, you would only need 21 more hours. APU would be in the same price range as the other schools.

I am currently at Amberton and have no complaints at all except for the fact that they off no federal or private loans. I like the 10 week format and their assignments. You do a lot of writing which suits me. Maybe you should go for their MBA program. A school administrator with an MBA sounds good. That's seem to be the way to go according to the School Adminstrators website. That is the route I am taking. I am going to test out for the Administration Credential and then finish up my MBA. You could major in the Strategic Leadership MBA, Management MBA or the General MBA.

Amberton's price is low at 225.00 per credit hour. I got 12 units transferred over for the Strategic Leadership MBA. That would be your fastest route. They were pretty generous with transferring over 6 units from junior college and 6 units from my Teaching Credential program at San Jose State. I could use those for my MBA general electives portion. I may not finish the MBA there though since I got declined for a graduate loan. I am looking into transferring to American Public University.

    Hope this helps.
