Virginia University Lynchburg www.vul.edu offers the BA and MA in Organization Management online. The MA is a 36-hr. program and the BA is a 36-hr. degree completion program. At $250/hr. tuition, these 36-hr. programs have a total program tuition of $9,000. There is a further $150 per course technology fee which, for twelve courses, tallies up to a further $1,800 for each program. VUL is an HBCU with national accreditation from TRACS.

Interesting. I've lived in Virginia for a quarter of a century and didn't even know that school existed.

Virginia University of Lynchburg is the oldest of the three institutions of higher education in Lynchburg.

Several HBCU's are starting to offer accelerated Organizational Management programs. I know of one that also offers an accelerated Psychology program.

I have a old Navy Buddy from Lynchburg. I will ask him about the school.

Neither have I. I can't say I've ever seen information about the school in school's guidance department. Of course, not having heard of school means very little. I'm sure there are just as many people in western Virginia who have never heard of CNU.

This may explain the lack of awareness of Virginia University:

It has only held that name for 13 years.

I'm familar with the school as I used to live near that area.

It's very small, had some accreditation issues in years past due to finances and has served mostly as a seminary and not a school offering business degrees. It also competes with Liberty's much larger seminary. Although VUL is a HBCU, many of the local, degreed African-American pastors have attended Liberty instead because of its name and flexibility with their various programs.

I have no idea as to the quality of education there but it's not a surprise that it flies mostly under the radar. I don't think I've ever read of a graduating class of more than 2-3 dozen people at any one time. It's also in an older, lower income neighborhood and, unlike many colleges, doesn't really advertise itself much. As a result, you can drive down the main street (Campbell Avenue) near its location without ever knowing it exists just a few blocks away.

I wish them the best because it does seem to be an institution that offers a quality product. Otherwise, I doubt they'd be able to make it through a trying period as they have. But it isn't a competitor (yet) with the other education providers in its area. Perhaps this new program will change that.

Who is TRACS? This is my first time hearing of them.

The only TRACS school I heard of is Tennessee Temple. I knew a guy that played B-ball there.

If they will take my technical credits, I will give them a shot.
